Composite bonding is the tooth-enhancing treatment that has soared in popularity over the past few years.
Composite bonding is the application of carefully shaped composite resins to a tooth that is chipped, discoloured, misshapen, or cracked. Unlike a veneer, the composite bonding process takes just a single appointment, and in some cases, no anaesthetic is needed.
Composite bonding is suitable for treating the teeth most visible to others when you smile.
Consultation chat
You and your dentist will discuss the aspects of individual teeth you wish to improve.
You may want to enhance the appearance of a single tooth that has chipped, cracked, or become discoloured. It’s also possible to alter the symmetry, shade, and structure of multiple teeth.
Your treatment is entirely personalised to you, and we can carry out a full smile makeover using composite bonding if you wish. Many of our patients choose to combine composite bonding with teeth whitening for the best results.
Your treatment
The tooth surface is cleaned and roughened in preparation for receiving the composite resin pieces. These are applied in stages by your dentist, who will work diligently to achieve the most natural-looking outcome for your smile and facial aesthetic as a whole.
Your dentist will use a UV light to set the resins solidly in place. The final stage is to polish the tooth.
