Tooth extractions are needed when:

Wisdom teeth are impacted (there is not enough room for them to come through), and they become decayed or symptomatic.
A tooth has a severely destructive cavity, and the living tissues inside are affected.
When root canal treatment is not suitable or has failed.
Gum disease has caused teeth to become loose, symptomatic or infected & the tooth cannot be saved.

Examination

Your dentist will examine the teeth and make sure nothing more can be done to restore them. This is confirmed by taking X-rays.

Safely extracting your tooth.

A local anaesthetic is used to numb your tooth and the area around it. The tooth is then carefully dislodged and extracted.

Your dentist will provide you with post-procedural advice, but we encourage you to contact us if you encounter any complications or if you have any questions.

1. Do You Perform Wisdom Tooth Extractions?

We routinely perform wisdom tooth extractions. This routine procedure alleviates wisdom tooth pain and eliminates the possibility of future wisdom tooth infections. Should your wisdom tooth be a complicated one or require surgical removal, we work with our referral partners and will refer you either in-house to an oral surgeon or refer you to a local oral surgeon who will then perform the procedure.

2. I’m Nervous – How Can You Help?

We can offer an intravenous or oral sedative to help you prepare for your tooth extraction. These types of sedation are fast-acting and extremely effective for relaxing nervous patients.

My son Christopher has learning difficulties and is disabled, so we decided to have him sedated for his teeth to be cleaned as he had a lot of plaque that was impossible to remove He was very anxious, but when he met David he was lovely with Chris and talked him through the whole process. Then he met Scarlett, who was also so lovely to him and reassured him. Throughout the whole process they were both amazing with him and I would thoroughly recommend them both. Chris is now very happy with his clean teeth and if he has to go back for a clean he is not afraid to.

I was very nervous about getting two fillings but Dimitri and nurse Lauren completely put me at ease today. They worked excellently together and I found the whole experience to be so much better than I imagined. The best hygienist appointment!
